Robinia System: automatic processing of naturally shaped posts

Today, robinia wood is most often processed by hand because no two posts are the same. Our system scans each post, matches the design to its natural shape, and processes it automatically in 360°, without anyone needing to program a robot.

A test building in Nykøbing Falster constructed almost exclusively from bio-based materials. We supplied robot-processed timber components for the structure, where hempcrete and natural materials place strict demands on fit and tolerances.

A cross-disciplinary partnership supported by Realdania, which aims to make prefabricated rammed earth elements a viable option in Danish building practice. We are a grant recipient and are scaling the robot-based production methods.

Moulds for double-curved concrete cocoon   

Robot-milled moulds for the double-curved, in-situ cast concrete cocoon in Hængslet at Aarhus Ø. The moulds were produced from the digital model, allowing the exposed concrete to follow the curved geometry precisely.
